Sony has confirmed PlayStation 3 motion control will be launching later this autumn, with some gamers disappointed that the rumoured-to-be-called 'PS3 Arc' will not make a spring/Easter launch.

Square Enix President Yoichi Wada has claimed that a time will come when gamers will not need console hardware.

Sony is set to launch its camera-based motion controlling tech for the PS3 this coming Easter holiday season, although the tech is still shrouded in secrecy.

Sony has laid the VOD smackdown on Xbox 360 by announcing it now has 40 studio partners offering movies to its on-demand service - making it the biggest provider console-wise of downloadable content.

Netflix has introduced movie streaming to Sony's PS3, with US PS3 users getting the service as of November this year.
