We saw a lot of incredible technology at IFA Berlin 2026, be that cutting-edge headphones, futuristic robot vacuums, or game-changing AIoT systems. But one area that arguably went under the radar, but impressed me an lot, was new charging technology.

I saw some incredible gadgets that could change the way that I, and many of you, juice up our phones, tablets, and laptops, so I thought I’d round up some of the most amazing technology I saw at IFA this year.

I’ll run through three of my favorite innovations (alongside a bonus entry), and reveal my favorite chargers, why they impressed me, and all the details you need to know about them. Here's some of the most exciting charging tech coming down the (power) line…

1. UGreen’s liquid cooling wireless chargers

It only seems right to kick things off with the most exciting new products of them all: UGreen’s new liquid cooling wireless chargers.

UGreen’s MagFlow lineup — which consists of a magnetic power bank, 3-in-1 wireless charging stand, and a 2-in-1 foldable model — could be a genuine game changer. Why? Well the a key issue for high-speed wireless chargers is heat, and I’ve seen it myself when testing. You can be juicing up your phone at great pace, but past a certain point, the build-up of heat can trigger throttling, which slows speeds in the interest of safety.

But UGreen’s new model combat this with active cooling, as well as passive heat-dissipation and “intelligent temperature regulation,” enabling improved performance.

I had the chance to see all of the new Qi2 25W chargers, but my favorite was the MagFlow Pro Magnetic Power Bank, which UGreen claims is the first power bank to include micro-pump liquid cooling. It has a transparent window, enabling you to view coolant circulation in real time, and according to UGreen, its peak temperature during testing was 18F / 10C lower than the 118F / 48C “industry reference”.

2. Belkin’s slim semi-solid-state power banks

Another titan of the charging world, Belkin, had a few new drops to show me too. And the most interesting were its new semi-solid-state power banks, which impressed me for two key reasons.

The first, and perhaps most obvious, is the fact that they make use of semi-solid-state batteries rather than the more typical lithium-ion alternative. Semi-solid-state batteries are denser than lithium-ion ones, enabling them to offer higher maximum capacity in an even slimmer form, and they also degrade at a slower rate.

The other thing that impressed me was the build quality of the two power banks. They both look and feel excellent, with a sleek Black or Sand finish available, and their phenomenally slim construction makes them highly practical for using your phone while charging.

There are two models available: the Belkin UltraCharge Pro Slim Magnetic Power Bank, a 15W wireless power bank with a 5,000mAh capacity that’s just 8.8mm thick (which is about the same length and width as a standard credit card); and the Belkin 10,000mAh UltraCharge Pro, which offers a 60W maximum power output, dual USB-C ports for juicing up multiple devices at once, and a display for viewing charging and temperature information.

3. ESR’s dual-retractable cable chargers

I personally use a bunch of chargers with retractable cables — the convenience is unmatched. And so, ESR has a new set of products that truly calls to me in its Xtend chargers.

The 100W version of the Xtend wall charger comes with not one, but two built-in cables which can fully retract. This means it's incredibly easy to charge two devices at once, be that a phone and a laptop, or a tablet and some wireless headphones. The built-in cables are also able to extend up to 95cm (3.1ft), which is considerably further than some models I’ve tested.

A second model, the ESR Xtend 45W has just one built-in cable, but it’s more compact, and has an additional USB-C outlet if you want to charge two devices simultaneously.

Bonus: UGreen’s cat chargers

Okay, these might not be the most advanced chargers I saw at IFA, but UGreen’s new cat chargers really caught my eye.

They look a bit like cats wearing a hoodie, and even come with detachable feet if you want to avoid damaging the charger when it's in a bag, or scraping yourself when carrying it in a pocket. They have a pleasant rubbery feel, a compact build, and offer charging speeds up to 45W from their USB-C port. A purr-fect option for feline fans.

Semi-solid-state batteries are one of the biggest advancements we’ve seen in consumer battery tech in years — they’re denser than lithium-ion batteries, so they can sport a higher capacity without increasing the thickness, and they also degrade more slowly. In other words: they’re a major upgrade, and Belkin has just launched two power banks with this semi-solid-state tech, which we’ve already had an early look at during IFA 2026.

First, there's the Belkin UltraCharge Pro Slim Magnetic Power Bank with BoostSolid Cell, a power bank with a 5,000mAh capacity that’s just 8.8mm thick and is around the same length and width as a standard credit card. That thickness makes it up to 40% slimmer than comparable 5,000mAh power banks.

The UltraCharge Pro Slim sports Qi2-certified 15W magnetic wireless charging, 22.5W USB-C wired charging, pass-through charging so you can charge a phone and the power bank at the same time, and — thanks to its semi-solid-state construction — the ability to retain most of its capacity across 1,000 charging cycles.

There’s also the Belkin 10,000mAh UltraCharge Pro, which can deliver up to 60W of power, is able to charge multiple devices at once via dual USB-C ports and a USB-A port, and has a display that can show battery, temperature, and charging information.

This power bank also supports pass-through charging, and while it’s understandably thicker than the 5,000mAh power bank above, Belkin claims it’s still 27% smaller than standard 45W 10,000mAh power banks.

Incredibly slim with excellent build quality

Harry Padoan (Senior Writer, Reviews) went hands-on with both of these new power banks and said, “Belkin's new UltraCharge power banks look pretty impressive — largely due to their incredibly slim build, which makes them highly practical for juicing up your devices on the go. That's especially true for the Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5K, which boasts solid Qi2-certified wireless charging as well as 22.5W wired charging.”

Padoan added that “the larger Power Bank 10K is a bit thicker, but it packs in a handy display and a solid 60W maximum power output, which will be more than enough power to fast-charge many modern handsets. The build quality across both models also seems excellent, and there are Black and Sand options, depending on what you prefer.”

While these are among the first Belkin products to feature semi-solid-state technology, we have already seen it in some power banks from other brands, such as the Kuxia S3. But it’s nice to see a big brand like Belkin embracing this innovation.

If you like the sound of Belkin’s new offerings, you’ll be able to grab the 5,000mAh power bank for £59.99 (around $80 / AU$110) and the 10,000mAh one for £69.99 (roughly $95 / AU$130) from Belkin’s own site, Amazon, and other selected retailers worldwide, starting this month.

Bluetooth trackers have been life-changing for keeping tabs on my valuables — even for mundane items that I always seem to lose, like umbrellas — and I now can’t imagine a world without them. Options such as the Apple AirTag (first and second generations) and Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 dominate the sector, but thankfully there are more affordable alternatives that work just as well.

So, when my housemate kept losing their keys, I felt compelled to reveal the benefits of owning a Bluetooth tracker. That's when I stumbled upon a deal on the Ugreen FineTrack Duo 4-pack on Amazon for 39% off and immediately bought it so I could pair one of them with the newly cut house key before handing it over.

And my housemate hasn’t lost their keys since! Indeed, I’ve found the Ugreen FineTrack to be excellent value compared to Apple AirTag (which I also use), and I particularly appreciate the built-in notch that lets you directly attach it to a keyring without needing a separate split ring or any other accessory.

I was surprised to learn how loud they are as well — I can certainly vouch for Ugreen’s 80dB-100dB claim, which is louder than the AirTag’s 60dB (or 40dB inside a bag, which is barely louder than a refrigerator hum). When you’re at the other end of a house and need to find a mislaid item, that extra loudness is priceless.

The Ugreen FineTrack Duo lets you instantly locate your valuables via Apple Find My or Google Find Hub, and you can make the tracker play a sound when you are within Bluetooth range. You also get a notification when the tag moves out of range, and there’s even a ‘Lost Mode’ that can be activated, whereby you supply your contact information, which someone else can view if they recover it.

The battery is rated for one year and charges via USB-C, so you won’t need a wireless magnetic charger, though the protective dust plug over the charging port isn’t attached to the FineTrack Duo and could easily be lost.

Amazon sells iOS-only and Android-only models that are slimmer, but there are bundles too, including this one with the card-shaped wallet finder that’s also available for AU$82.12.

Looking for a case for your brand-new Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold? You've come to the right place. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is one of Google's new handsets. It was announced in August 2026 alongside the standard Pixel 11, the 11 Pro, and the 11 Pro XL. The Pixel 11 Pro is one the new additions to Google's flagship phone lineup, sitting alongside the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold (we've tried them all out, and were impressed). The Pro's screen is the same 6.3-inch size as the standard Pixel 11, but is brighter and higher-resolution. The build quality of the phone is also a step up over the basic model, and the rear camera setup is more advanced too.

My go-to brands for reliable, tough cases are Otterbox and Spigen. Those cases are generally on the pricier side, so I've included some cheap-and-cheerful Amazon alternatives. These tend to come from weird, no-name brands, so quality can be hit-and-miss. I've stuck to the options that come backed with reassuring reviews. And I've also thrown in a selection of fun cases from Casetify, which is the best place to look for quirky options to add some personality to your phone.

Iniu SnapGo Air 10000mAh Power Bank review

The Iniu SnapGo Air 10000mAh Power Bank is a svelte, pocketable MagSafe power bank. Not only does it include two USB-C ports that can muster up to 45W charging solo or 15W together, it can also charge 25W wirelessly and comes with a discrete cable that doubles up as its handle.

When it comes to looks, the majority of power banks usually take the form of functional cuboids. However, the SnapGo Air 10000mAh Power Bank actually feels like it has some personality. To start, it's available in a range of colorways: Soft Lilac and Sunset Orange are seriously eye-catching, while I love the fact that the Metallic Mocha hue I tested here matches my Desert Titanium iPhone 16 Pro.

There are more practical design flourishes, too. The SnapGo Air 10000mAh Power Bank is super slim compared to many of the best power banks. It measures just 0.5 inches / 13.8mm thick, which is almost half the thickness of my chunky 0.91 inch / 23mm Ugreen 10000mAh Magnetic Wireless Power Bank, and even slimmer than the 0.58 inch / 14.7mm Anker MagGo Power Bank (10K, Slim). The SnapGo Air is a little wider as a result, measuring 2.76 x 4.13 inches / 70 x 105mm, but by having the MagSafe connection extend out a tiny bit from the power bank’s bezel, it keeps its height to a minimum.

As I mentioned, another neat touch is the doubling of the Iniu’s braided USB-C cable as the power bank’s loop. While this isn’t a unique feature by any means — for example, the recent UGreen 10,000mAh Magnetic Wireless Power Bank Qi2 25W utilizes a similar system — it's far more convenient than having to bring a separate cable with you, and makes it easier should you want to opt for that 45W fast-charging over the slower 25W MagSafe charging.

Like a lot of the newer power banks, the SnapGo Air also features an LCD screen, which displays the battery’s remaining charge. This is far more useful than those models that only have a series of LEDs to indicate battery status, where you're left guessing whether the power bank has 51% or 74% charge left. The display here is subtle, tucked away down by the device’s two USB-C ports, and I really appreciate the more granular insight it provides on the juice left in my device.

So how does it perform? Perhaps, unsurprisingly, pretty well! That 45W max charging isn’t unheard of, but it still beats a number of devices, with many higher output models likely to cost you a lot more — although the Anker 20,000mAh 87W Power Bank is currently available for a steal at just $69.99 / £49.99 / AU$119.99. MagSafe charging is capped at 25W by Apple, so naturally you won’t get a huge variation in charging speed there; but the reality is you're trading speed for convenience with wireless charging.

In terms of the numbers, I first put the SnapGo Air to the test by fully charging the 5,200mAh battery of the OnePlus Nord CE5 from 0% to 100% using its 45W charging. That took 1 hour and 24 minutes, which is pretty much bang on what I’d expect given the phone’s capacious battery. Unfortunately, only 29% of the Iniu’s 10,000mAh capacity remained after charging, which is a significant drop.

Meanwhile, when I used its MagSafe charging to juice up an 3,095mAh iPhone 13 Pro, it took 2 hours and 25 minutes — that’s considerably slower, but not surprising given the max wattage available to the iPhone 13 Pro during MagSafe charging is just 15W.

When it comes to powering the SnapGo Air back up, its 27W charging saw this take just 1 hour and 46 minutes. Given its 10,000mAh total capacity, that isn't bad — there are phones with batteries half that size that take nearly as long to charge up.

All told, the Iniu SnapGo Air 10000mAh Power Bank is a pretty strong power bank. It charges your devices fast, whether you’re using its built-in cable or 25W MagSafe charging; its LCD screen is super useful; and the unit itself is nicely compact. Moreover, it’s a seriously stylish power bank in a market crammed with charcoal-hued cuboids, yet comes in at a very reasonable price. Ultimately, it’s a very hard product to find fault with.

Festivals pose a bit of a conundrum when it comes to charging. It's really useful to have a phone — for checking programs, finding friends, and snapping photos — but the days are long, and there's minimal access to power points. A power pack is your best friend, and below I've rounded up the best models for festival-goers.

I've included a mix of options. There are compact, lightweight power banks that won't weigh your bag down and can charge your phone while you're using it. These can generally only manage two charges at the absolute maximum, so they're best suited to one- or two-day festivals, or festivals where you'll have overnight access to power. There are also larger power packs that offer multiple recharges, but which are generally too bulky and heavy to carry around all day.

It can be hard to stand out when launching a new power bank, but Belkin has certainly tried with the Belkin BoostCharge Pro Power Bank 10K, which is capable of much more than just charging your phone.

Beyond packing 10,000mAh of power, it also includes a pop-out LED light, complete with a motion sensor and controls to adjust its brightness.

One obvious use for this is as a bedside night light, which might be handy when staying in a hotel. But it also has a flashing mode, which helps it attract attention; in this mode, it could function as an SOS signal — which could be reassuring if you’re out in the wilderness. And it could also be used as a fill light for photos and video calls, when the ambient light isn’t ideal.

Compact and capable

Beyond that, this Belkin power bank has a built-in braided USB-C cable and a USB-C port, so you can charge two devices at once. It outputs 45W of power; if you’re charging two devices, the primary device gets 30W, and the other gets 15W.

It also has a small circular display showing the remaining battery percentage. This screen also contains controls for the LED light — a light which is unlikely to draw much power, so you hopefully won’t be sacrificing much charging potential by using it.

It comes in at 118 x 60 x 32mm and 257g, so the light doesn’t appear to add much weight or bulk, but sadly it’s only available in China for now, with JD.com listing it for 329 yuan (roughly $50 / £35 / AU$70). Since Belkin has a global presence, though, this may well launch elsewhere too.

Heading off on a vacation? It's easy to forget about boring things like charging solutions, but when you're away from home, keeping your devices juiced up is both more important than usual, and more difficult than usual. I speak from experience — I've found myself in one too many foreign city after a long day of exploring, trying to memorize Google Maps directions to a hotel while my phone battery dwindles alarmingly into the red.

This year, though, I've decided to get myself prepared, and avoid all that stress by arming myself with the right travel gadgets. Luckily, at TechRadar our reviews team members have tested dozens of charging gadgets of all kinds, and below I've rounded up our top recommendations for travel.

I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to portable charging. I love testing the many power banks, USB-C chargers and newer Amazon brands available to see whether they can really do what they claim, and how well they hold up day to day.

Mobile gamers are in for a treat with Ugreen's new Honkai: Star Rail collaboration. The mobile accessory brand has unveiled five new special edition products that are out right now, plus a massive limited edition gift box with some exclusive merch for true collectors.

Mobile accessory maker Ugreen has launched a new collection of Honkai: Star Rail collab products and they seem perfect for mobile gamers.

Hot off the heels of the brand's successful Genshin Impact collaboration, this new line contains five officially licensed items inspired by the popular character Star Rail character Yao Guang.

The most expensive is the $89.99 MagFlow Air Magnetic Power Bank Honkai: Star Rail Edition, a compact power bank with an integrated braided USB-C cable which actually doubles as a carrying handle when it's not in use.

Despite its small size, the power bank boasts a massive 10,000mAh battery capacity. It supports MagSafe, so is capable of snapping to the back of a compatible phone for simple cable-free charging, and could come in clutch if you find yourself running out of juice in an intense mobile gaming session.

Of course, the whole power bank is decked out in a unique blue colorway and decorated with an illustration of Yao Guang on one side and some patterns inspired by her in-game abilities on the other.

If you're after a more traditional power bank, then the $59.99 Ugreen Nexode Pro Power Bank Honkai: Star Rail Edition is the model to go for.

You lose MagSafe compatibility, but gains a built-in smart display that lets you monitor the remaining battery capacity and check the charging speed— up to 45W (or 55W with compatible Xiaomi devices).

Like its thinner sibling, this model has a massive 10,000mAh battery capacity and a built-in braided USB-C cable that can double as a useful carrying strap.

The design of this is a bit brighter, though, with full color artwork and lots of little flourishes for fans to appreciate.

The $49.99 Ugreen Nexode Air Charger Honkai: Star Rail Edition might seem a little pricey for a charger brick, but does has some high-end specs on top of its special edition design.

It's meant to charge everything from your laptop to smartphones and tablets with its 65W output, and comes bundled with a 1M long USB-C cable.

The plug's prongs can be folded down, which is ideal if you want to keep it in your rucksack without inadvertently scratching something else.

There's another cable too: the Ugreen Nexode Retractable USB-C Cable Honkai: Star Rail Edition. It costs $19.99 and supports up to 100W fast charging.

It retracts into a compact disk (emblazoned with some character artwork) and is meant to help keep your desk or bag tidy by cutting down on cable clutter when not in use.

Although charging is clearly a big focus with the collection (and a big concern for most mobile gamers, as intensive titles like Honkai: Star Rail tend to burn through battery fast), the final collab item is actually a location tracker.

The Ugreen FineTrack Mini 2 Honkai: Star Rail Edition looks like an adorable AirTag alternative, and is exclusively compatible with Apple Find My.

Unlike an AirTag, the Ugreen FineTrack Mini 2 does not offer a replaceable battery: once it runs out of charge, you need to buy a new one.

This is a shame, though the brand does estimate that each unit will last more than seven years and claims that a disposable battery cell actually has lower carbon emissions than a rechargeable one.

It's also IP68 waterproof thanks to the sealed design, and is a touch cheaper than an AirTag at $21.99.

I've tested more than 20 chargers here at TechRadar, including everything from small-sized power banks through to gigantic 500W towers, and while many have impressed me greatly with their strong performance and ingenious designs, some have been...less easy to recommend.

There are a lot of underwhelming models out there that won't give you fast charging, have a poor line-up of ports, or break much faster than you'd hope. And so, I want to make sure you can get yourself a charger that's speedy, reliable, well-made — and most importantly, great value for money.

Of all the chargers I've tested, there are 4 that I've come to rely on above all others. I've collected them all together and placed them into this list, so you can copy my charging loadout and wave goodbye to poor performance. Spoiler alert: these are all Anker and UGreen models, which will be of little surprise to many — these two brands are building chargers with an unbelievable power-to-scale ratio, impressive temperature-regulating tech, and flashy looks.

But anyway, you must be curious what models made the cut by now, so let's dive right into my top picks!

1. UGreen Uno Charger 100W

You saw the robot in that lead image, didn't you. And I bet it sparked your interest, right? Of course it did. And it should, because the UGreen Uno Charger 100W isn't just my favorite charger I've ever tested, it's also the one I've used the most.

In my five-star review, I raved about this charger's quirky robo-shaped design, its incredible performance, high power, and practical build. 100W is enough for me to charge my MacBook Air M4 or high-speed charge my Xiaomi 17 phone. It even shows quirky emotions while I charge, which makes something typically monotonous feel kinda fun.

Despite putting this model through the wringer for over a year and a half, it hasn't shown any signs of slowing down, any wear or tear, or given me any reason to want an upgrade. It's genuinely exceptional, and if you're going to buy one charger on this list, I'd suggest making it this one.

2. Anker Prime Charger (200W, 6 ports, GaN)

The Anker Prime Charger 200W has been a stalwart of my desk for quite some time now, and I think I'd struggle to keep my workspace organized without it.

This desktop charger really does have it all. It's got a mega 200W maximum power output, four USB-C and two USB-A ports, and tech that protects against overheating and other nasty malfunctions. It's easily mighty enough to recharge a power-starved laptop and phone simultaneously, and you can probably throw in a few small devices, like an Apple Watch or wireless earbuds for good measure, as well.

What I really love about this device, though, is that it keeps everything in order. I don't need to plug loads of chargers in to keep my (many) devices — I can just plug this into the mains, connect everything I need up, and get seamless and clutter-free results. Another thing to highlight is this device's premium look and durable build — mine still looks like new after almost two years. Not bad for a model you can sometimes find on sale for less than $60 / £55.

3. UGreen MagFlow Magnetic Wireless Power Bank 10000mAh Qi2 25W

I recently got to review the UGreen MagFlow Magnetic Wireless Power Bank 10000mAh Qi2 25W — yes, its name really is that long. And I found it works like an absolute charm.

In a way, this device is a lot more versatile than I first thought. On the face of it, you think: wireless charger with retractable cable to recharge the power bank, simple. But I've been using it a little differently. See, the charger is capable of recharging while juicing up other devices, which actually makes it a surprisingly effective multi-device charger when you're on the go.

If I'm on the move, I plug the power bank's retractable cable in, charge my wireless earbuds on the wireless pad, and use the charger's additional USB-C port to give my phone or Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones a bit of extra life. Of course, it works great as a basic wireless charger too, especially with its 25W Qi2 compatibility and handy display, but it really feels like the Swiss Army Knife of the charging world.

If I'm out and about, then this Anker power bank is my go-to every time. It's a small yet mighty power bank that's ideal for juicing up your phone on flights or roadtrips, and thanks to its 45W power, it's perfectly capable of fast-charging a lot of modern handsets.

When I’m at the parks, a FuelRod comes in very clutch, as I can keep it plugged in and easily swap it at one of the vending machines. And yes, they’re in every park at Disney World in Orlando, FL, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. Disney also maintains a full list of locations, and I’ve personally used them in Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios. You’ll also find them at many of the resorts across the property.

The JBL Go 5 launched recently, and when I reviewed it, the speaker genuinely took my breath away.

It's exactly how to do an upgrade right, offering better sound, a more flashy design, and even better durability than its already impressive predecessor, the JBL Go 4. I love its edge lighting, its well-balanced sound with clean bass and rich mids, and also its broad feature set, which includes EQ options and multi-speaker pairing.

Despite improving on what its predecessor had to offer, the Go 5 is available at a very similar price, typically coming in at around the $55 / £40 mark, and if you need excellent sound, solid battery life, and high level (IP68) waterproofing on a budget, then it's the best small Bluetooth speaker to buy right now.

3. Power bank: Anker Nano Power Bank 10K 45W

I genuinely bring this Anker power bank with me everywhere. It's the definitive portable battery for travel for a few key reasons.

The first is its size. This model is absolutely tiny and can easily slip into a pocket or small bag, no problem. Second, it's incredibly practical. There's an integrated USB-C cable, making charging on the go totally seamless. And finally, it's a fantastic performer. That 45W max wattage means fast-charging is easily accessible on even some of the best phones.

A 10,000mAh capacity should also mean it can charge a pair of wireless headphones as well as your handset, so if you want an ultra-practical, lightweight power bank to bring on the go, the Anker Nano Power Bank 10K 45W is my number one recommendation.

I've used this one a lot myself, and it's great for travel. Why? Well, it's incredibly compact and packs in quite a bit of power, meaning you can make use of fast charging without lugging a massive brick around. 5. Portable fan: Shark ChillPill

In the UK, it's absolutely scorching right now. It feels like I'm fighting for my life here with the combination of high humidity and near record-breaking temperature. And when you're on your summer travels, I'd wager that it will be similarly blazing in a number of countries. What you need, then, is a portable fan.

We're big... fans... of the Shark ChillPill here at TechRadar, and awarded it a 4.5 star review recently. It has good battery life, is filled with a range of cooling options, and even has a mister for when you need a healthy blast of cold.

The build and design quality is strong here too, and the straightforward controls make it a joy to use. Yes, it's a little expensive, but we've seen it pop up on sale from time to time, so if you want to stay chilled on the move, then I'd strongly suggest picking this lil' gadget up.

6. Philips Shaver S9000 Prestige

OK, so not everyone will need this, but if, like me, your facial hair seems to grow back in the blink of an eye, the Philips Shaver S9000 Prestige will be a great addition to your travel tech arsenal.

With multiple speed settings to suit your desired sensitivity, wet and dry shaving versatility, interchangeable heads (including a beard trimmer), and spectacular handling, the S9000 Prestige is a true all-rounder.

This model also has solid battery life and I rarely need to juice it up. But it comes with a wireless charging pad for when you're running low on power. There's also a cleaning device thrown in the box, and a carry case for whenever you're on the move.

I've found that the S9000 Prestige is kind on my skin, which is pretty prone to razor burn, and its flexible foil shaver is great at getting into those hard to reach areas around the nose, for instance. It launched at a fairly high price, but you can regularly swipe it up on sale now, so why not give it a go?

7. Clothes steamer: various options

OK, in all honesty, I've not actually got a travel clothes steamer, but when some colleagues of mine heard that I was writing this piece, they were clear that it's a must have.

After all, how many times have you been on holiday or out on a business trip and realized that our garments look a little creased? For me, it's a few times too many. With a compact clothes steamer, you can wave goodbye to pesky creases and wrinkles in a flash.

So, I have a few recommendations from the team that I'm here to share with you. For our US readers, Managing Editor of News & Deals, Jacob Krol, suggests the Conair Handheld Garment Steamer. This affordable model boasts "turbo steam power," comes with a 3-in-1 attachment, and has a water tank that's good for 20 minutes of steaming. Not bad, eh?

Over the pond, our Managing Editor of Social & Engagement, Josephine Watson, had a couple of recommendations. The first, the Tefal Pure Pop Slim Handheld, is cheap, comes in a range of funky colors, and heats up in just 15 seconds for super speedy action. Josephine told me that her bridesmaid friend bought this model in order to save a wedding dress disaster — and luckily, it worked. Talk about coming in clutch.

Josephine also recommended the Russell Hobbs Steam Genie 2in1 Handheld, even claiming she would trade her firstborn for it. Pretty high praise. This model has a 150ml water tank, can heat up nice and swiftly, and claims to kill up to 99.9% of bacteria within 60 seconds.

UGreen MagFlow Magnetic Wireless Power Bank 10000mAh Qi2 25W review

The absurdly lengthily named UGreen MagFlow Magnetic Wireless Power Bank 10000mAh Qi2 25W is the sort of gadget that makes everyday life feel that little bit easier.

It’s a power bank that features three key components: a wireless charging pad, an integrated USB-C cable, and an additional USB-C port. These can be used individually or simultaneously, making it easy to juice up multiple devices at once, or even charge the power bank while bringing your phone back to life.

No matter which of these three components you’re using, the UGreen Qi2 25W power bank assures steady performance — a base requirement for any model rivaling the best wireless chargers and best power banks. For instance, the 5,000mAh Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra projected that it would take about 2 hours and 58 minutes to charge with this power bank, and I found that figure to be spot on. In addition, fast-charging worked well with the integrated cable and extra USB-C port, whether I was juicing up the Nothing Phone (4a) or recharging the power bank itself, with 30W charging available here.

Luckily, this model also supports a wide range of charging standards, including PD 3.0, Qi2 25W, QC 4.0, PPS, and more, meaning its well-equipped to serve a gigantic range of devices from a variety of brands, including Apple gear, Android phones, and a whole host of others.

Of course, this model has a 10,000mAh capacity battery, which should be fine for charging a phone and a pair of the best wireless earbuds, for instance, but you’ll still need to recharge the power bank fairly regularly. If you want a device that’s better suited to more power hungry devices, or one that can juice up your phone multiple times on a single charge, then it may be worth looking at a bulkier alternative like the Anker 737 140W.

One of the benefits of the UGreen Qi2 25W’s more modest capacity, though, is that it's incredibly compact. This model can easily slide in your pocket, and when it's magnetized to your phone, it doesn’t feel clunky or uncomfortable to hold. Its highly portable design makes it the ideal device to take when you're journeying by train or plane, or whenever you’re out and about, especially given it's just 0.6lbs / 254g in weight.

As is the case with most UGreen chargers, this model is also rammed with tech designed to prioritize safety. UGreen says the Qi2 25W has “13-layer protection,” with features like high-temperature shielding, short circuit prevention, and overcharging protection.

I never experienced any technical faults with my unit during testing, and although my charger and phone did feel a little hot after a full charge, this wasn’t to a dangerous degree — and this is understandable given the power bank’s slim build.

One final thing that impressed me with the UGreen Qi2 25W, was its build quality. This model is beautifully constructed, with a textured silicone and metallic finish, a range of attractive color options, and a “military grade” integrated cable, which UGreen claims to have survived a 10,000+ bends test. There’s also a nifty display on-board, which makes it easy to know when your power bank is close to being fully charged.

So, is the UGreen Qi2 25W worth buying? On performance alone, I’d say yes. Although there’s one more thing we have to consider: price. And this device doesn’t come cheap. It has a typical asking price of $89.99 / £79.99 / AU$99.99, which is quite a bit for a power bank with a 10,000mAh capacity and 30W wired charging capabilities.

However, it’s worth noting that an all-in-one combination of Qi2 wireless charging, an integrated cable, and a display is always going to come at a premium. There’s also an extra USB-C cable included in the box, and again, the build quality here is excellent. What’s more, you can grab this model on sale quite regularly. When writing this review, I spotted it on sale for less than $60 / £55 / AU$80, and at that price, I think this wireless charger-power bank hybrid is well worth considering.

Every gadget has an origin story, but PopSocket's Low-Pro iPhone grip might be special. Unveiled today in the Apple store, it's an idea as old as the PopSockets brand, but one that waited almost a decade, until the original grip had become a smartphone industry icon, adorning the backs of hundreds of millions of phones.

PopSockets makes a wide range of grip styles, and some, like the Kick-Out & Grip, are pretty low profile, but nothing is quite like the 2.6 mm-thick Low-Pro, which PopSockets ' VP of Marketing Lisa Li calls "a labor of love."

The idea for the Low Pro traces back to the first few months of PopSockets when Founder and CEO David Barnett was already percolating ideas for an ultra-thin grip. But to understand that notion, you need to know why and how Barnett developed the PopSocket grip in the first place.

Blame it on the wired headphones

A former University of Colorado Philosophy professor, Barnett had headphones he frequently used with his iPhone, which got tangled in his pocket. As a solution, he purchased a pair of large coat buttons and glued them to the back of his iPhone 3G (I saw it, it's real). Then he wrapped the headphone cord around them.

Problem solved. That spark of ingenuity ignited a little flame of innovation: Barnett realized he could do more with his phone cable holder and envisioned an attachable and collapsible pair of grips. He even taught himself CAD and created a 3D print of a 2.1mm-thick disk. The print was a bit of a failure in that it didn't expand and was basically a stiff disc he now sometimes carried with him.

Even as Barnett started to hand out early grip prototypes to his students and they started using them as grips, Barnett couldn't shake the notion that it could be thinner. He told a friend about his idea:

"He was visibly upset, and he scolded me. I still remember that he was basically yelling at me in this coffee shop. He said, ' You would be a complete idiot to turn your attention and start developing a new product when you're sitting on something that could be a big hit here.'"

Barnet took his advice to heart, shelved the ultra-thin idea, and grew the PopSockets into a popular brand and, for some, an indispensable smartphone accessory.

Those darn skinny jeans

He also never let go of the idea, and as he talked to customers over the years, he noticed an odd trend with potential male users who said that while the product looked cool, they wouldn't use it because it would get stuck in their pockets.

"That's funny...what are they talking about? I slip it into my pocket. I just put my hand over it like this [and] I slip it into my pocket," said Barnett, who added that he'd never gotten one of his PopSocket grips stuck in his pockets.

Still, Barnett and company soon realized that there might be a market opportunity if they returned to that ultra-thin idea, a grip so low profile that it barely has any edges — and would never get stuck in a pocket.

Getting there, though, would not be easy. Stripping a few millimeters off their current thinnest design, arguably the PopSockets Kick-Out & Grip stand (6mm), would require re-engineering an OG component: the two-step expansion accordion section between the base on the button: it's the place where you slide your fingers to grip the...er...grip.

The result is a PopSocket grip that feels unlike any that's come before it. Instead of a satisfying two-step pop-up to snap into place, the Low-Pro grip has one action, and when it's open, the button sort of hovers or wiggles atop what honestly looks like a very flimsy rubber platform. It isn't even a single piece of material that's attached to the thin base that sits inside an equally thin steel ring. Like PopSocket grips before it, the ring and base are attached by a hinge. Instead of the button swinging out as a kickstand, the metal ring does that work, opening to virtually any degree.

Barnett assured me, by the way, that the $39.99 PopSocket Low-Pro is stronger than it looks.

To conduct a tensile test, the PopSockets team glued the base to a phone and then pulled on the button. It held up to 30-lbs pressure. In the real world, the magnet would give way off a MagSafe iPhone back before the Low-Pro tore in half.

They also opened and closed the Low-Pro 100,000 times without issue.

The new grip is so thin that MagSafe charges can still work through it, though charging speeds may be diminished. The magnetized face is strong enough to hold tight onto other magnetic surfaces, which means you could mount your iPhone on a metal cabinet or your metal fridge.

All about the iPhone — for now

Unlike the classic PopSockets, which are platform-agnostic and used to attach to phones and phone cases with a sticky base, the Low-Pro is designed for MagSafe and, therefore, the iPhone. In fact, the PopSockets Low-Pro grip launches exclusively on the Apple Store today with six colors, arrives in Best Buy and Target on July 12, and at all other retailers on July 29. By then, it should be available in 12 colors.

It's a relatively big swing for PopSockets to take a familiar and loved design and basically toss it out (at least for the Low-Pro) to bring in new customers who demand thinness at all costs, but Barnett has faced tough critics before, and it seems he's eventually won them over.

When Barnett shared the prototype for his very first grip with his wife, she told him, "It was the stupidest thing she'd ever seen, and that nobody was going to ever buy one," he recalled.

A decade later, he gave her a preview of the Low-Pro. "Her reaction," Barnett said, "was that it's the best invention since the credit card. She said everyone's going to buy this thing."

Apple's just wrapped a busy WWDC event. At the conference on June 8, the Cupertino giant announced an AI-overhauled Siri, a long-awaited AirPods equalizer, AI-powered Apple Photos editing, and more — see our roundup of 17 things we learned at WWDC '26 for more.

But another piece of news was delivered to developers, so it kind of went under the radar. Apple has announced an update to CarPlay coming with iOS 27, which will likely be coming to iPhone users from September (though you can download the developer beta now). As well as upgrades to navigation and "voice-based conversation apps", the update will introduce video apps.

That's right: soon, you'll theoretically be able to watch Netflix TV shows on supported car screens (which is, of course, how the creators intended you to see them), or swipe through YouTube (or even TikTok) while you're waiting at the airport — or potentially even at a traffic light. What a joy. What a world we live in.

In an Apple Developer video explaining the changes, the brand's Car Experience Engineer, Chris Whitney, stated that people will only be able to use the feature "when they aren't driving" but later gave use cases wherein a vehicle could potentially be idling, rather than parked.

We've reached out to Apple for clarity on this, but the ability to beam videos to your car's display when your vehicle is turned on (albeit in park and unable to roll, for instance), makes me very cautious. Consider that "ineffective observation" of the roads around us while driving is regularly listed by solicitors as one of the top reasons for road collision incidents in the UK, where I reside, and I hope you can see my concern.

Roads could get more dangerous

Apple forbidding the playing of videos when a vehicle is actually moving is obviously intended to stop people focusing on the big game while they're barreling down a highway. But it's not enough.

As far as I can tell initially, there'd be nothing to stop you popping on some YouTube Shorts while you're waiting for the lights to turn red (other than the fact that few people watch YouTube Shorts) or queuing at a drive-thru. What I'm saying is, it may still be easy to watch videos with CarPlay when you, as a driver, are a threat to other people.

Distracted driving is a massive threat to road users; according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2024, over 3,200 people were killed and 315,000 injured from distracted driving. The agency repeatedly cites mobile phone use as major source of said distractions. I accept that tapping on your CarPlay screen is a step up from fiddling with your phone, but it's not a big step up — not in terms of how safely you're driving.

Crucially, road danger exists whether or not you're in motion on said road. Anyone who's had a professional driving lesson knows that you're taught to be aware of your surroundings when you're behind the wheel. I remember being drilled on all the angles to check before pulling out onto the road; you need to give it time and attention. And you need to keep both hands on the wheel.

In conclusion, you need to give the road your time and attention, not the screen in your car. You may be obsessed with the documentary about a Lego shop stealing $200,000 in Star Wars sets, but if you're streaming it in your vehicle when you should be watching the road, you're a risk.

And, if Apple does let you stream videos when you're on the road (waiting in traffic, idling at the airport, etc), you could miss an important change in light or situation, become flustered, and then be a huge risk to others as you rush to get going without checking your mirrors for bikes.

As you can tell from those stats I cited earlier, distracted driving isn't new, and I'm not claiming that Apple has introduced it. But it is encouraging it, with features like CarPlay video playback, which feels irresponsible. CarPlay should reduce distractions and safety concerns, not introduce them.

So, as someone who's frequently on, or near, the concrete, please don't use it! Roads are dangerous enough as it is, and if people are streaming videos in their car display instead of checking their angles, it'll only get worse.

Some tech devices are so cheap that it's hard to imagine them being any more affordable. But that is exactly what has happened to the Anker PowerCore 10K, which is on sale at Amazon for $19.99 (was $25.99).

We've not reviewed the PowerCore 10K, but on paper, it's one of the slimmest and lightest 10,000mAh portable chargers on the market. If you get into a sticky situation, then it'll boost the charge of a laptop, but really, it's designed primarily for keeping your phone going — whether that's when you're out and about, travelling, or on a camping trip.

In terms of connectivity, the PowerCore 10K includes one micro USB port exclusively for charging the power bank itself, a USB-C port that supports both input and output, and one USB-A port with only output. As a result, you can charge two devices at once if you like.

It’s fair to say that MagSafe is a much-loved part of the Apple ecosystem: ask owners of any of the best iPhones what they think of it, and you’ll likely get a unanimously positive response. The magnetic attachment system lets you wirelessly charge your iPhone, attach accessories to its back, connect it to stands and car phone holders, and a lot more.

Like all good Apple products, it’s incredibly simple to use, yet performs exceptionally well with admirable reliability. On the surface, it would seem to be a roaring success story for both Apple and its customers.

Yet despite all that, I can’t help but feel disappointed by MagSafe. Sure, it’s great at what it does, and it’s easy to understand why so many people love it, myself included. But when I think back to how it was first introduced to the world, I can’t escape the idea that it just hasn’t lived up to its potential. Far from being the revolutionary innovation it was hyped up to be, MagSafe feels so much more limited than it should be.

But with the iPhone Ultra on the horizon, perhaps this is an opportunity for Apple to throw out the old and bring in something new, giving MagSafe the refresh it sorely needs. Whether or not that comes to pass, it’s clear to me that MagSafe needs a real shot in the arm. Let me explain why.

AirPower’s ambition

MagSafe is a brilliant idea, but it wasn’t Apple’s first attempt at a boundary-pushing wireless charger. That accolade goes to AirPower.

AirPower was an experimental wireless charger that introduced the idea that you could put any Apple device capable of wireless charging — including iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods cases — onto the pad, in any order and orientation, and they’d all juice up to full.

The trouble is that AirPower required a mass of overlapping charging coils on the inside, and this created far too much heat to be able to operate safely. Embarrassingly for Apple, the company had to cancel AirPower after publicly revealing it at one of its own events — a chastening lesson on revealing products before they're ready that Apple apparently has not fully learned (cough Apple Intelligence cough).

MagSafe, then, emerged from this milieu. It was essentially brought in because AirPower failed, but MagSafe was a much less aspirational project. Yet in lessening the scope, Apple was able to create a working product that has become highly popular among the firm’s fans.

But when you know that history, MagSafe’s drawbacks become more apparent. AirPower was undoubtedly the more ambitious device and would have had much more of that “Apple magic” if the engineers had managed to pull it off.

MagSafe still has some of that magic, but being able to drop your iPhone down anywhere on your charger and have it power up would have been a far stronger embodiment of the “it just works” philosophy. Sadly, that never became a reality.

We were promised more

MagSafe’s more conservative approach compared to AirPower isn’t the only way that I feel it’s falling short. When we listen to Apple’s own words, it becomes apparent that MagSafe could — and should — be so much more.

When the MagSafe charging system was first introduced to the world in October 2020, Apple promised a “robust and ever-expanding” ecosystem of MagSafe accessories. The company claimed that it was “enabling a whole new ecosystem for MagSafe” and that “We can’t wait to see the innovative ways that others will use MagSafe.”

Yet while there is some variety, the ideas that companies have come up with haven’t been as inspiring as I’d hoped. Almost everything falls into one of three camps: cases, charging peripherals, and small magnetic accessories (such as wallets and kickstands).

Worse, I can’t say that anything has really changed since MagSafe first launched over five years ago. The world of MagSafe accessories seemed to have settled into place almost as soon as the new standard arrived, and it's never really developed since then. That’s as true for third-party devices as it is for Apple’s own efforts.

However, there’s one thing that I’m hoping will shake things up a bit: the iPhone Ultra. Apple’s foldable phone is not just a new product — it’s a whole new form factor. And not only that, it’s a device that’s designed to be carried in your pocket yet is also one that folds out to a sizeable proportion in use. It’s set to become the largest iPhone ever in terms of dimensions, and that means there could be a whole lot of surface area for MagSafe accessories.

With more room to play with, device makers could get creative with what they can snap onto the back of the phone. No longer will they be limited to the narrow width of a standard iPhone; they'll instead have the iPhone Ultra’s wider form factor in their sights. Who knows? Maybe someone will be able to dream up a MagSafe peripheral that works when the phone is both folded and unfolded.

It’s this new device that could prompt the serious overhaul that MagSafe has been crying out for.

Really, I would have wanted to see more creative solutions far earlier in MagSafe’s lifetime. After all, we’ve had years of sluggish development and timid product ideas. But with the iPhone Ultra resetting expectations, this might be a golden opportunity for MagSafe to finally come into its own.

As they say, better late than never.

DJI Osmo Mobile 8P: two-minute review

When I reviewed the DJI Osmo Mobile 8 in November 2025, the only real criticism I had for it was its lack of a remote control. With the Osmo Mobile 8P, DJI has gone and fixed that issue — and in doing so has produced what I'd call the most capable lightweight smartphone stabilizer on the market right now.

The headline addition is the Osmo FrameTap, a detachable remote that snaps magnetically onto the gimbal handle for close-up work and slides off for remote shooting (with a range of up to 25m). Its 1.4-inch touchscreen can mirror your phone's camera view — directly on Android, via the Mimo app on iOS — so you can frame shots, trigger tracking, and adjust the gimbal's pan and tilt without having to peer at your phone's screen. It's a feature that the Osmo Mobile 8 was crying out for, and a match for the touchscreen remote that made the Hohem iSteady V3 Ultra one of my favorite gimbals of 2025.

In most other respects, the 8P is virtually identical to the Osmo Mobile 8: it has the same foldable form factor, built-in extension rod and mini tripod, magnetic phone clamp, 360° pan rotation, and up to 10 hours of battery life. DJI claims the OM 8P's 8th-generation three-axis stabilization delivers 20% more torque than the OM 8's, and while I don't doubt that on paper, I'd be surprised if most users noticed any difference in everyday shooting. The stabilization is smooth and dependable, as you'd expect from any modern DJI gimbal.

Where the 8P is more meaningfully upgraded is in its tracking skills. The Advanced Tracking Combo bundle I reviewed pairs the gimbal with the 2nd-Generation AI Tracking Module (officially the Multifunctional Module 2), which can now follow virtually any object — not just people and pets, but vehicles and more — using your phone's native camera or any third-party app. It also features a highly customizable LED fill light.

In testing, ActiveTrack 8.0 (only available through the Mimo app) and the Module 2's own tracking were both excellent, reliably re-acquiring me even when I ducked behind objects and re-emerged in a different spot. You can also set your position within the frame rather than being locked to the center, which is a useful tool for more compositionally minded creators. Apple DockKit tracking is also present, but with Module 2 available, it feels largely redundant. I suppose it's useful if you want the simplicity of NFC pairing, but it offers far fewer options than either of the other two modes.

Beyond tracking, the 8P's general feature set will feel familiar to anyone who has used its predecessor. You get the same four gimbal motion modes — PTF (pan and tilt follow), PF (pan follow), FPV, and SpinShot — cycled through via the FrameTap's on-screen mode button, plus a trigger on the front for re-centering, locking the gimbal axes, and flipping the phone between front and rear-facing cameras. Buttons for toggling between portrait and landscape orientation are also available (again, via the FrameTap's touchscreen), and the mini joystick handles manual pan and tilt when you want direct control over the gimbal arm.

There are some trade-offs here, though. By shifting much of the control scheme to the FrameTap's touchscreen, the 8P feels less immediately hands-on than the OM8 — the joystick is smaller, and functions like mode switching and camera toggling now live behind a touchscreen rather than dedicated physical buttons. The zoom/focus wheel present on the Osmo Mobile 8 is gone entirely, which feels like a regression. And if you're stepping up from a gimbal that used the original Multifunctional Module 1, note that the Module 2 has apparently dropped support for connecting a DJI wireless microphone directly to the module itself — you'll need to connect your mic to the phone instead.

All things considered, the Osmo Mobile 8P represents a small but meaningful step forward for DJI's gimbal lineup. Its tracking is class-leading, its remote control fills the one gap that held the OM 8 back, and its pricing remains competitive against rivals like the Insta360 Flow 2 Pro and Hohem iSteady V3 Ultra. The reduced physical controls and the Module 2's dropped mic receiver support are real niggles, but they're unlikely to be dealbreakers for most users. If you're in the market for a folding smartphone gimbal, the OM 8P is now the one to beat.

Finally, there's the Creator Combo at £195 / AU$329, which features all of the above plus a DJI Mic Mini 2 transmitter and mobile receiver. Like all recent DJI products, there's no US pricing or availability at launch.

I reviewed the DJI Osmo Mobile 8P for around a week, testing it both handheld and set up on its built-in mini tripod. It was used with my Apple iPhone 13's front-facing and rear cameras, both indoors and outdoors, and I recorded video using a range of apps (but mostly the iPhone camera and DJI Mimo). I made sure to test its tracking capabilities with all three of the available tracking methods: ActiveTrack 8.0 (via the Mimo app only); the Module 2; and Apple DockKit.

Dear Nomad Goods. I'm sorry. I was wrong for making fun of and laughing at the Universal Cable for Apple Watch when you announced it early last year.

When I first saw pictures, I sent them to friends and even family members, laughing at the idea of an Apple Watch charging puck built into a USB-C charging cable.

I mean, look at it. It just looks silly.

I still think it looks weird, but after using the Universal Cable for Apple Watch for a half dozen trips, I'm sold. Let me explain.

I'd consider myself a frequent traveler, as if I'm not hopping on a plane for a quick work trip, I'm driving a few hours away for a baseball tournament. One of the last things I pack for each overnight trek is a charging setup for everyone who's tagging along.

That usually means a wall adapter, typically with two ports, along with a USB-C cable for an iPhone and an Apple Watch Charger. I have a one-gallon plastic bag I use to store everything, so it's easy to access when it's time to hit the road. Multiply that default setup for five people, and I'm sure you can imagine the giant pile of spaghetti living inside said bag. Simply, it's a mess.

Over the years, I've tried, tested, and even reviewed several travel chargers, each one designed to streamline charging on the go. Solutions like the Mophie 3-in-1 Portable Travel Charger, which folded up nicely to fit in a backpack, or Anker's latest Prime Wireless Charging Station. Both do what they advertise, but they're bulky. In Anker's defense, that charging station isn't advertised as a traveling charger — but its overall footprint and design beg to be taken on the road.

A couple of months ago, Nomad sent me the Universal Cable for Apple Watch along with its 65W Slim Adapter to test. A few days later, I went on an overnight trip and took both gadgets with me.

My initial thoughts after unboxing the cable were that it definitely looks weird, and the end with the Apple Watch charging puck is heavier than I anticipated. The braided cable is the same as the rest of Nomad's cables, which means it's built to last. I have one of Nomad's 3-meter USB-C to USB-C cables that's been run over and chewed up by our robot vacuum more times than I can count, and it still has not a single mark on it.

Depending on your setup, you can plug the end with the Apple Watch charger into your wall adapter, leaving the standard USB-C end to plug into whatever device you're charging, which makes sense if the charger is placed horizontally on a table or desk. That arrangement allows you to charge your watch while also using and charging your phone, for example.

However, hotel outlets are almost always inconveniently placed, so I've been using it the other way — with the Apple Watch puck near my iPhone —and it works perfectly for me. I don't usually place my Apple Watch Ultra 3 on the charger until I'm either getting ready in the morning or I'm going to bed, at which point my phone is sitting on the nightstand or desk anyway.

The cable can charge at up to 100W with the appropriate wall adapter, while the Apple Watch charger can fast charge compatible models. Those included the Apple Watch Ultra 1, 2, and 3, the Series 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, and the Apple Watch SE 3.

Oh, and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that you can also place AirPods Pro 2 or newer on the Apple Watch charger to top off the charging case. Bonus!

What I like most about the Universal Cable for Apple Watch is that it streamlines what I have to pack for myself. No longer do I need to have multiple cables, which inevitably get tangled and look like a spider's web when I take them out of my plastic baggy.

It's a single cable that can do multiple things, and for that reason, it's now a staple in my travel gear, even if it looks weird.

Right now Nomad Goods has it in stock in the 1.5-meter length – there are 0.5-meter and 3-meter sizes, but both are sold out – for $85 / £69 / AU$129, in your choice of carbide or white. Indeed, it's pricey for a charging cable, but it's not just a cable. You're paying for the additional feature of charging your Apple Watch, along with the durability that Nomad's cables offer.

Modern phone cameras are seriously capable bits of kit. So much so, if you have one of the best camera phones, it can be more than enough to capture some excellent holiday snaps without having to lug any unwieldy bits of dedicated camera kit around with you. With a few, small accessories, you can make your phone even more capable and convenient for capturing stunning vacation photos and video.

The accessory that inspired this whole collection is the new Insta360 Snap; a mini monitor that attaches magnetically to the back of your phone and provides a live feed of what the camera is seeing. It solves the one big problem with selfie photos and video on a phone: the need to decide between using your good camera (on the back) and just hoping and praying you're in frame, and being able to see the framing but having to use the less good-quality front camera.

Another accessory that can make a big difference to the quality of your holiday snaps — and especially if you want to be in them — is a good tripod. Joby is a great brand to look at here, with rigid options for flat surfaces, as well as flexible, grippy tripods for scenarios where things are a little less stable. Meanwhile, KraftGeek is a good shout for selfie sticks. They might be universally hated, but they do facilitate better group pics. Good photos aren't always about making friends, okay?

If you want to get serious, gimbals and mics are worth investigating. Or if you're just wanting something cheap and cheerful, a PopSocket for grip will make a big difference, and don't forget a slimline power pack for when you inevitably run out of juice on your long days of exploring.

As part of Sustainability Week here on TechRadar, we're on the look-out for gadgets that are both useful and kind to the planet — and the new Chipolo x Secrid Miniwallet Trackable certainly fits that description.

That's Bluetooth tracker experts Chipolo partnering with speciality wallet makers Secrid, to make something that can carry your cash and cards — and that can also be quickly found from your phone if it gets lost.

As for the sustainability credentials, the wallet is locally produced in Europe and made from "responsibly sourced materials", which includes at least 50% recycled plastic for the tracking card device and ethically sourced leather for the wallet.

The wallet is capable of holding a few notes, plus up to nine cards, which slide out from the top of the wallet via a patented system that Secrid uses in some of its other wallets. The overall size is 21 mm x 65 mm x 102 mm (0.8 in x 2.6 in x 4.0 in).

"Born from a shared belief in thoughtful design and local production, Chipolo and Secrid made this wallet to improve your everyday life," reads the marketing blurb. "The Secrid Miniwallet is precisely tuned to allow Chipolo Card to perform at its full potential."

Cross-platform compatibility

As the wallet comes with an embedded Chipolo Card tracker, it can be located through the Chipolo app, as well as through the device tracking apps available from Apple (Find My) and Google (Find Hub).

In addition to seeing where your wallet is on a map, you can get the Miniwallet Trackable to make a sound up to 110 decibels so you can figure out exactly where it's got to. The wallet has apparently been specially designed to maximize that volume level.

You can do some reverse tracking too: there's a button on the wallet you can press that will trigger a sound on your smartphone, as long as you've got the Chipolo app installed. If you've got your cards and cash but can't find your phone, this can help.

The card tracker should last for around a year between recharges — depending on how often you lose it and have to activate its ringing sound — and recharging can be done via any Qi-compatible wireless charger.

Without having tested it out, I'm impressed by what the Miniwallet Trackable offers compared to, say, the Apple AirTags — there's no need to remember to pack in an extra tracker, and it can be easily tracked from both Android and iOS devices.

As someone who uses plenty of Apple devices and non-Apple devices day to day, cross-platform compatibility is a must really. If you'd rather just have the Chipolo Card on its own, that's yours for $38.99 or £38.99.

The personal safety device company Pebblebee has launched what it’s described as “the most important thing (we've) ever made” — the new Halo tracker.

As of today (April 7), the Halo safety tracker is available to purchase from Pebblebee’s online store and select retailers, ushering in a new era of devices for the brand. Halo is priced at $59.99/ £55.28/ AU$87.88, which is pricier than Apple’s flagship AirTag, but has more functionality.

Firstly, Halo is built on that ‘what if something goes wrong’ feeling you have when you’re in a risky situation by yourself, be that walking home late at night or travelling through an unfamiliar destination which can be registered on Apple’s Find My app or Google’s Find Hub — meaning it’s suitable for both iOS and Android users.

On top of this, Halo doesn’t require you to open an app or enter a passcode. Instead, it’s small enough to clip onto a keychain at 2.7 inches and 1 ounce in weight, meaning it’s within your reach for when you need to activate it — this is where its features shine.

At its core, Halo is a simple device with three distinct functions. When you activate it by using its pull-apart mechanism, Halo will signal a 130dB siren to attract attention from passersby in the area, emit a flashing strobe of light (which doubles as a 150-lumen flashlight), and will share your real-time location with up to five trusted contacts called your Safety Circle.

There’s also an added level of discretion. If you need to alert your Safety Circle but don’t want to draw attention to those around you, rapid presses of the button on the side of the device sends a silent alert when activated, without triggering the spectacle of the siren and flashing strobes. As for battery life, it can run up to a year before it needs its next lot of juice.

“We built Halo with specific people in mind — the college student navigating a campus at 11pm, the early-morning runner who goes before the neighborhood wakes up, the traveler dropped into an unfamiliar city, the parent who wants their teenager to have something more capable,” the company reveals. “But the more we tested it, the clearer it became: this is for anyone who has ever had that 'something is happening' thought”.

Each Halo safety device comes with a free 12-month subscription to Pebblebee’s Alert Live plan, which is required for live location sharing and the option to add more than five contacts to your Safety Circle. While it’s not a huge difference to Halo’s subscription-free features offer, the added benefits certainly add an extra layer of reassurance.

My favorite vocal microphone is the Neat King Bee II. It’s a large condenser mic, sort of similar to the ubiquitous SM7B, but since the Neat brand is seemingly no longer active, it can be had for pennies. It makes voiceovers sound incredible, but the sad part is, I rarely actually use it.

The King Bee II is an XLR microphone that needs 48V phantom power to function. This means you need an audio interface and a computer hooked up to make the most of it. That’s fine if you’re streaming games on Twitch, for example, but my content typically takes me outside, away from the desk, and that means my favorite mic sits gathering dust until the next Zoom meeting.

Thankfully, that’s changing. Shure sent me its latest gadget, the MVX2U Gen 2 (catchy name, I know), and it has unlocked a whole new world of microphones for on-the-go content creation. I have been so impressed with this little gadget, and in this article, I’ll tell you why.

What is the Shure MVX2U Gen 2?

You can think of the Shure MVX2U as a USB audio interface. The biggest difference is that it's tiny and it’s certified to work with iPhones, iPads, Android phones, and more.

The MVX2U is only slightly wider than a typical XLR plug, but it supports phantom power, along with some pretty advanced EQ and compression options. Shure even managed to squeeze in a headphone jack for real-time monitoring.

It really makes me wonder what’s going on inside my desktop audio interface. Either Shure is the master of miniaturisation, or I’ve got a sizable empty box on my desk.

The MVX2U is designed to be stuck into the end of an XLR mic, and then you can connect it to a phone, tablet, or computer with a USB-C cable. Of course, you could also use an XLR cable between the mic and the adapter, for situations when you need to get further away.

How to use it

The thing that really shocked me about this setup is how hassle-free it is. I took the adapter out of the box, plugged it into my mic and phone (in this case, the Oppo Find X9 Pro), and that was it; it just worked.

It’s a stark contrast to my typical XLR setup for PC, where I’m constantly having to adjust the gain to stop the mic from clipping or sounding too quiet on a call.

The MVX2U just figured out everything for me. It recognised that the mic needed phantom power, and turned it on, and automatically adjusted the levels so that I could whisper or scream while the volume always sat around -3 dB.

Of course, you might want more control than that, and if you do, you’ll need to install Shure’s Motiv app. This will allow you to change the input level, the amount of compression, the tone of your recordings, and more.

I have somewhat mixed feelings about the default auto-level mode. I’m amazed by how well it works, and it’s incredibly convenient, but it’s so heavily compressed that it can sound a little unnatural. You can sometimes catch it off guard, too, like if you have a few minutes of silence followed by sudden talking, when it sometimes peaks for a split second before catching up.

If you’re serious about your audio, you’ll definitely want to dive into the Motiv app settings. That said, the auto level mode has its benefits. It means you can hand this kit to someone who doesn’t know the first thing about audio and know they’ll get solid results. It’s also more than good enough for short-form content like TikToks and Reels, so if you’re more focused on speed and convenience than polish, it could be the way to go.

Why should you care?

These days, I shoot most of my content with either a smartphone or a pocketable camera like the Osmo Pocket 3. Sure, professional mirrorless bodies have their advantages, but the video quality of these devices is more than good enough for most situations. Plus, with a phone, you can edit and publish your content all from one device, not to mention the fact that it's already in your pocket.

Phones make a lot of sense for recording long-form content like podcasts, too. They’re relatively cheap, small, lightweight, and easy to use. But there’s no substitute for good audio.

I tend to use my DJI Wireless Mics when I’m shooting with a phone, purely for convenience, and they usually get the job done perfectly, but sometimes you need something with a little more fidelity - like if you’re recording a lengthy voiceover, for example.

This handy adapter is a game-changer for mobile creators, as it unlocks the ability to use pretty much any professional microphone on the market. Want a Hollywood-level shotgun microphone for your next short film? No problem. This pocket-sized interface even allows you to plumb yourself into the mixing desk at a gig or a conference – something that could be incredibly useful for videographers.

With a list price of around $120 / £140, the Shure MVX2U Gen 2 is not exactly cheap, but it has already proven its worth to me. I dare say anyone who owns a nice XLR mic and shoots with a phone will feel the same way. Hats off to Shure for rethinking what an audio interface should look like in 2026. My YouTube videos are going to sound a lot better for it.

The new Center Stage selfie camera is one of the best features of Apple’s iPhone 17 series — but why settle for 18MP snaps when 48MP selfies are possible?

That’s the question posed by Kickstarter case brand Dockcase, whose latest offering, the Selfix case, adds a touchscreen to the back of your iPhone 17 Pro for seamless, main camera-quality selfies.

The Selfix case features a Camera Control cutout which, when pressed, activates both the rear touchscreen and the iPhone camera via USB-C, giving you access to Apple’s full suite of rear camera features in a front-facing orientation: the 48MP main lens, 48MP ultra-wide lens, Night Mode, Portrait Mode — the works.

And if that’s not good enough, the Selfix case also features a microSD card slot supporting up to 2TB, making it a smart alternative to bulky (and expensive) external USB-C drives, even if you’re not a keen selfie snapper.

Dockcase sent me a sample to try for the iPhone 17 Pro, and while it’s definitely a hefty piece of kit — it effectively doubles the thickness of your iPhone — it does work exactly as described. The rear touchscreen makes it easy to frame up 48MP snaps, and you can navigate your phone as normal from behind with minimal lag (though you do have to switch on AssistiveTouch in the Accessibility settings menu, since the case is considered an adaptive accessory).

Beyond that setting, though, Dockcase doesn’t ask you to download any apps or sit through a complicated setup process, which makes the Selfix case easy enough to use straight out of the box.

As above, I definitely have reservations about the size of the case, and while it features a built-in magnetic ring around the screen for MagSafe grips and mounts, it’s not compatible with wireless charging accessories. That makes it, for me, a tough sell in practical terms, but having access to 4K/120fps ProRes video in a front-facing capacity might appeal to creators.

The Selfix case also addresses a problem that was perhaps more prevalent in the iPhone 16 Pro and older iPhones than it is in the iPhone 17 Pro. Apple’s new Center Stage camera features automatic subject framing and gives you the ability to switch between portrait and landscape orientations without physically turning your iPhone. It’s leagues ahead of previous iPhone selfie cameras, and I haven’t found myself wishing for a bigger front-facing sensor in my time with either the iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone Air.

The selfies I’ve been able to capture with the Selfix case are more detailed than those I'd get with the standard 18MP sensor, sure, but not to the extent that I’d sacrifice the portability of my iPhone in its naked state, nor my ability to charge wirelessly.

Still, if the Selfix case calls to you, it’s available for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max in three colors: Satin White, Morganite Pink, and Onyx Black. Pricing starts at $79 (around £60 / AU$110) for early backers.

Dockcase’s Kickstarter campaign for the Selfix case has only just gone live, and like all Kickstarter projects, buyers may encounter unpredictable delays or design compromises, so exercise caution. Mind you, we have covered previous Dockcase products in the past, and my unit works as described.

If you own a Rode Wireless Go (Gen 3) or Wireless Pro microphone and have been eyeing the newer, cheaper Wireless Micro's feature list with envy, here's some good news: the company has just released an update that brings one of the Micro's handiest features to the Go and the Pro – and it won't cost you a dime.

The free firmware update allows the Wireless Go (Gen 3) and Wireless Pro to use Direct Connect, meaning their transmitters can pair directly with Apple iPhones and iPads via Bluetooth. That means that users running the iOS Rode Capture app can now record what Rode describes as "broadcast-quality audio" on their Apple mobile devices without the need to use a receiver or cable.

It's a brilliant feature for anyone looking to run a streamlined recording setup, and one that Rode Wireless Micro users have had access to since its launch in 2024.

When using Direct Connect and the Capture app, audio can be delivered in either merged or split modes. The former uses two transmitters to create and output a single stereo track, while the latter creates a separate track for each transmitter, giving the user more scope for adjustment in post-production. Of course, users can also deploy a single transmitter and record a single mono track.

No cable? No problem

Whether I’m heading into the city for the day or embarking on a long-haul flight, I always bring something to keep my many devices powered.

I’ve used this Anker portable charger on commuter trains, at 30,000 feet on a United Airlines flight, and during full days at Disney World, where my phone is constantly in use for photos, navigation, and the Disney app. It’s kept up without issue.

It’s also held up well to daily use and the occasional drop. While the lighter finish shows some scuffs, charging performance hasn’t been affected. Wireless charging has become a modern convenience. It’s easy, tidy and strangely satisfying when you feel that little magnetic pull, right? Just drop your phone on a pad and it starts charging. No fiddly cables, no worn ports, no cluttered nightstand. Some wireless chargers can even power multiple devices at once, and many are now built into furniture, cars and desks.

But although it’s convenient, it doesn’t always feel like the best option. It often takes your phone much longer to charge than just plugging it in and it can seem warmer while it’s sitting on the pad. That heat has sparked concern that wireless charging could wear out or even damage your phone’s battery over time.

We spoke to experts to find out whether your favorite bedside charging pad is really doing your battery any harm.

The myth: wireless charging 'stresses' your phone's battery

The supposed myth is that wireless charging damages your phone’s battery and the extra heat it produces makes your device degrade faster or lose capacity over time.

It’s an idea that feels easy to believe. When you charge wirelessly, your phone does often get noticeably warm, and that warmth makes the process seem harsher on the battery than a cable would be.

Add to that the fact that wireless charging can be slower and sometimes inconsistent, and it’s easy to assume something wasteful or damaging is happening when you put your phone on a charging pad.

There’s also a common belief that the electromagnetic field used to transfer power might somehow “stress” the battery or flood it with energy, as if the invisible current is somehow overloading your phone.

So could the warmth we feel during wireless charging actually be shortening battery life? Or is this just another misunderstood bit of charging folklore?

What experts say

“No, wireless charging does not ‘kill’ your phone’s battery,” says Associate Professor Ritesh Chugh, a socio-tech expert at Central Queensland University, Australia. “But it can make it run slightly warmer, which may have a small effect on long-term battery health if you’re doing it frequently.”

To understand why, it helps to know what’s happening behind the scenes. “Wireless charging works by transferring energy through electromagnetic induction,” Chugh explains. “Inside the charging pad is a coil of wire that creates an alternating magnetic field when electricity passes through it. Your phone has a similar coil inside its back. When you place the phone on the pad, the magnetic field induces an electric current in the phone’s coil, which is then converted into direct current (DC) to charge the battery.”

The key difference between wireless and wired charging is efficiency. “In wired charging, electricity flows directly through a physical connection, making it faster and more efficient,” Chugh says. “In wireless charging, the power must first be converted into a magnetic field, then back into electricity inside the phone.”

Kent Griffith, an Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at University of California, San Diego, says that while the process isn’t dangerous, we do need to remember it is less efficient.

“Wired charging is around 95% efficient, while wireless charging is typically 70-80% efficient – sometimes higher under ideal conditions,” he says. “Any time energy is lost, it’s lost as heat, and heat is what can speed up battery aging.”

However, both experts stress that modern phones and certified chargers are built to manage the heat safely.

“Wireless chargers follow standards such as Qi (pronounced “chee”), which regulate how much power can be transmitted and ensure safe alignment and communication between the charger and the device,” Chugh explains. “The phone and charger constantly ‘talk’ to each other, adjusting the current and voltage to maintain safe temperatures and avoid overcharging.”

So what's the best way to charge?

What's the ideal charging setup? “Occasional wireless charging is perfectly fine, and even daily use isn’t going to cause noticeable harm for most users,” Chugh says. “Just be aware of excess heat.”

He recommends keeping your setup cool and flat. “Avoid charging on soft or heat-retaining surfaces such as couches or beds. If your phone becomes noticeably hot, lift it off the pad for a few minutes to let it cool before resuming.”

Griffith explains that you need to think about the charger too. “Make sure the coils are properly aligned to ensure the best efficiency, and always use a wireless charger that’s compatible with your device,” he says.

Chugh adds that you need to make sure you have a Qi-certified charger. “They include important built-in safety features such as temperature monitoring, automatic shut-off, and foreign object detection.” You can find our recommendations for the top Qi2 options we've tested in our guide to the best wireless chargers.

So while wireless charging might make your phone warmer and is a little less efficient than wired charging, it isn't killing your battery. And though it could be aging it a touch faster, even experts say the real-world effect is minimal.

Hohem iSteady MT3 Pro: two-minute review

If you’re serious about video capture, there’s a good chance that a gimbal is on your ever-growing shopping list. And if you’re looking for something that can support one of the best cameras for YouTube and general video capture, the Hohem iSteady MT3 Pro is an option you might want to consider.

This is a pro-spec gimbal that comes with a built-in camera for AI subject tracking and remote viewing, a touchscreen remote, impressive battery life, and a respectable 5.51lbs / 2.5kg maximum payload. It’s packed with features, and the Pro kit comes with a range of useful accessories for not much more than the price of the standalone Pro option.

The MT3 Pro even features a detachable 1.4-inch touchscreen remote, which can be used to control the gimbal from up to 32.8ft / 10m, with the ability to see what the AI tracking camera sees. This is fantastic, whether you’re capturing yourself or simply working at a distance from the camera. You can, of course, also access many gimbal settings via the remote, and there’s a mount that attaches the remote to the multi-angle arm that’s included in the pro kit.

In terms of build quality, there’s no faulting the MT3 Pro. It feels like a quality product, as you’d hope and expect for the price. It’s a surprisingly compact gimbal considering it has a maximum payload of 5.51lbs / 2.5kg, which is enough to support a range of different cameras and necessary accessories up to some professional options.

The MT3 Pro is comfortable to hold thanks to the contoured grip and the weight of just 2.36lbs / 1.07kg. Plus, the included mini tripod acts as both a stand and an extended handle / grip. The Pro kit also comes with a multi-angle handle, which is perfect for adding stability in ‘side handle mode’ and for capturing low-angle shots in ‘briefcase mode’. Another useful feature is the ability to switch the camera to portrait mode in a matter of seconds, without having to rebalance the gimbal.

A great aspect of the MT3 Pro is that it comes with everything you need to attach and stabilize smartphones, action cameras, compact cameras and larger mirrorless cameras, DSLRs, and video cameras. For most professionals and advanced users, a mirrorless or video camera will be the obvious camera of choice, but you never know when you may need to attach an action camera or smartphone, so this functionality remains useful – if you shoot just with a phone, however, you'll find a better alternative in our best phone gimbals guide which includes Hohem's own iSteady M7 in top spot.

The camera mount is Arca-Swiss compatible, which means you can attach your camera and camera cage to the gimbal. Like all gimbals, the MT3 Pro conveniently folds flat for transport and storage. Parts of the MT3 Pro are Teflon-coated, intended to make balancing easier when adjusting the tilt, roll and pan arms. The MT3 Pro was easy enough to balance, and the arms certainly moved with ease during the process.

One of the more interesting features is the AI subject tracking for humans, pets, vehicles, and pretty much any subject you might want to capture. The subject tracking works well, incredibly well, when it comes to locking onto subjects as you move around them, or if the subject itself moves – the gimbal will follow. 'Any subject' may seem vague, but during my testing I was able to select literally anything, and the MT3 Pro would dutifully lock on to it.

The gimbal achieves success here thanks to its 2MP AI camera. This not only allows the gimbal to see the subjects it's tracking, but, as previously mentioned, it also provides a live view of what’s happening in front of the camera. It’s not a live feed from the camera, but it remains useful by allowing you to select the subject to be tracked. You can set custom follow speeds to make the MT3 Pro quicker and generally more responsive when required. You can also use hand gestures to control some functionality of the gimbal, which is useful for vloggers.

The Hohem Joy app allows you to perform several tasks, including updating firmware, controlling the gimbal wirelessly, setting up shooting tasks such as timelapses, and smartphone camera control when stabilizing your smartphone. It’s not the best app of its kind, but it could be worse, and I was surprised to find a firmware update available for the pre-sale MT3 Pro I was testing.

One thing I did find tricky with the MT3 Pro is that some features and functions are tucked away behind multiple button presses, as well as being accessible on the remote. This is fine if you use gimbals daily, but for less frequent users it will take some time to learn what one, two, three or four presses, or a long press, of a button does. Not a dealbreaker, for sure – just something to be aware of.

The Hohem iSteady MT3 Pro is an impressive and useful gimbal thanks to these features and others, including the Spot Mini Motor, which can be set up to add easy motorized focusing of your lens / follow focus. This is only available in the Pro kit. Standard features include control of compatible cameras, and there’s also a built-in light. This has Kelvin and brightness control, and although it’s not the brightest it does add useful fill light in some situations.

This and the AI subject tracking will of course take their toll on battery life, but Hohem claims that the 4350mAh battery can provide up to 20 hours of use when these features aren’t being used. I wasn’t able to fully test that claim, but a single charge did more than cover my testing period, which spanned a couple of weeks and multiple shoots.

Hohem iSteady MT3 Pro review: price and availability

The Hohem iSteady MT3 Pro was announced on January 6 2026, alongside the Hohem iSteady MT3. The latter is a less expensive option with a lower maximum payload and fewer features. The iSteady MT3 models will initially be available in the United States with pre-orders open now. Hohem has suggested that a wider release to the UK, Australia and other regions could follow in March/April.

I reviewed the iSteady MT3 Pro kit, which costs $549, while the iSteady MT3 Pro costs $449. Without listing everything you get in the Pro kit, in addition to what comes with the MT3 Pro, you also receive a carry case, multi-angle handle, a focus motor and associated accessories, among other items, and for just $100 more it's an attractive option. If you do, then you can attach your phone to the Deskmate, which is essentially a MagSafe charging stand. But while your phone is attached, the Deskmate’s companion app will automatically run on it, turning your phone’s screen into an AI assistant, complete with a personality-filled face.

This assistant can set reminders, add things to your calendar, respond to voice commands, answer questions, provide suggestions, and integrate with the likes of Slack and email apps. The stand can also rotate and tilt, to make this feel more like a robot that’s watching and engaging with you.

The Loona Deskmate isn’t out yet, but a Kickstarter for it will be launching in March, and it will cost under $300 (roughly £225 / AU$450).

2. GameSir x Hyperkin X5 Alteron

The GameSir x Hyperkin X5 Alteron is a mouthful to say, but it could be a joy to use for any mobile gamers.

This collaboration between GameSir and Hyperkin is billed as "the world's first fully modular mobile gaming controller." So it can attach to your phone, and you can change the included buttons and their layouts, with options for things like dedicated GameCube, Nintendo 64, or fighting game controls. So whatever you want to play, there’s likely to be a module to suit.

And while this is largely for phones, its arm can even extend far enough to attach it to the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and iPads – or you can use Bluetooth to connect it to a PC.

Sadly, pricing and availability are yet to be confirmed, but we expect it will go on sale soon.

3. Anker Nano Charger

A charger might not sound very exciting, but it becomes slightly more so when it has a screen, as this one does.

The Anker Nano Charger’s display can show over 20 different interfaces, highlighting charge level, charging power, and what mode it’s using – with the option of standard charging or a TÜV‑Certified Care Mode that can reduce battery temperatures.

Display aside this is a compact 45W charger, with prongs that can be oriented in two different positions, so it can easily fit in most outlets.

It’s designed primarily for recent iPhones and iPad Pro models though, and it sounds like some of the display features won’t work if you plug something else into it.

If you like the sound of it, you’ll be able to buy this new Anker Nano Charger on January 20 for $39.99 – though currently it’s only confirmed for the US.

4. Belkin UltraCharge Pro Power Bank

Belkin used CES to unveil a number of new accessories, including an UltraCharge Pro Power Bank, which you can magnetically attach to your phone.

This 10,000mAh battery pack offers 25W of Qi2 wireless charging power or you can charge via USB-C at 30W. It has a tiny display to show the current capacity, and there’s a built-in kickstand. But arguably the real highlight is that it has a second magnetic ring on it, so you can still attach magnetic wallets or other magnetic accessories to your phone with this attached.

It’s TSA-approved, so you shouldn’t have any issues flying with it, and it’s launching in “select markets” in February for $99.99 (around £75 / AU$150).

5. Baseus PicoGo AC22 Ultra Mini Power Bank

If your priority in power banks is simply keeping them compact, then the Baseus PicoGo AC22 Ultra Mini Power Bank could be the device for you.

Despite having a hefty 10,000mAh capacity, this is only around the size of an AirPods case, so you can easily slip it in a pocket and not feel like you’re carrying a brick around with you.

It also has a built-in cable and a display, and it can deliver 45W of charging power, so this may be small but it sure sounds mighty. The Baseus PicoGo AC22 Ultra Mini Power Bank will be going on sale in February, for $59.99 (approximately £45 / AU$90).
